History

Milestones

1985

The first step: Richard Trenkwalder sets up his own temporary employment agency, Trenkwalder Engineering, and places workers with engineering companies. 

1992

Trenkwalder conquers new markets: The company, which has grown into Trenkwalder Personaldienste AG, expands into Central and Eastern Europe and opens its first foreign branch in Slovakia. 

1999 – 2000

On the way to becoming number 1: Further locations are added in Hungary, Italy and Germany as well as in the Czech Republic. In Austria, the company becomes the leading personnel service provider. 

2001 – 2004

Gaining a foothold and keeping pace: Trenkwalder is now also represented by its own branches in Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Serbia and Poland. In Hungary and Slovakia, the company becomes the market leader.

2006 – 2008

Firmly established without standing still: Trenkwalder continues to expand - to Liechtenstein and Switzerland, followed by Turkey, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Albania and Greece. In October 2007, a jury of experts names Richard Trenkwalder "Entrepreneur of the Year". 

2011

Everything under a new roof: The Droege Group, a family-owned company based in Düsseldorf, acquires more than 75 percent of Trenkwalder International AG (now Trenkwalder Group AG), including all its subsidiaries. 

2012

Trenkwalder goes digital: Finding the best candidates means addressing and inspiring people on digital channels, social media... Also at international level, across national borders. Mobile and social recruiting as well as international recruiting are now standard. Finding candidates on social media and other digital channels, as well as international recruitment, are becoming part of everyday business. As the recruiting channels grow, so does the service portfolio. Trenkwalder secures a place as an expert in HR services and consulting, executive search and business process outsourcing. 

2015

Looking back and moving forward: Trenkwalder celebrates its 30th anniversary. 

2018

Learning for the world of New Work: Personnel development is the tool for retaining employees over the long term and promoting young talent. Trenkwalder acquires the multiple award-winning learning platform papagei.com and expands into the future market of e-learning with "Trenkwalder Learning". The intuitive, user-friendly web and mobile app PAPAGEI opens up numerous possibilities for companies - from digital continuing education to the production of their own e-learning modules based on the latest findings in learning research. 

2019

To help fill the gap between available and market demand for technical staff, Trenkwalder also offers IT support for the digitisation and automation of HR processes, in addition to all the established solutions: international recruitment, executive search, business process outsourcing and training solutions.

2023

Here and now: Trenkwalder has established itself as one of the leading partners in Europe for holistic hybrid solutions in the areas of HR services, outsourcing and technology.
